Our company is located among the gentle hills of Montespertoli, near Florence, a place steeped in history and renowned for Chianti.
Our lands cover a total area of 150 hectares, of which 43 are dedicated to vine cultivation.
Sangiovese predominates in our vineyard, of which we boast a variety of more than 29 distinct clones. We take particular care in safeguarding native varieties, also cultivating Canaiolo and Colorino (which, combined with Sangiovese, give life to our renowned Chianti Coeli Aula), as well as Ciliegiolo, Pugnitello, and Trebbiano.
In addition to local varieties, we also cultivate international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

OUR HISTORY
Winemakers since 1899
Since the 9th century, the parish of Santa Maria a Coeli Aula stands as a historical testimony, surrounded by the possessions of the Cadolingi Counts and the Florentine Abbey. During that time, agriculture represented the main source of livelihood for the families of the region, contributing to the development of wine and olive productions over the years.
Our company has deep roots in the history of the parish, with the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopoldo Habsburg-Lorraine, who, over the centuries, ordered the construction of the manor villa, using it as a hunting residence.
In 1949, the company was acquired by Giuseppe Barni, whose commitment and dedication to the vineyards led to significant improvements in wine production. For three generations, the Barni family has continued this tradition, consistently pursuing ever-higher quality standards.
Today, in the fourth generation, our goals remain the same: to care for the vineyards in absolute respect for nature, which is why we have embraced organic farming, and to produce excellence following ancient techniques, but integrated with the knowledge and technological innovations acquired over the years.
